Strengthening the Oral Health Safety Net Initiative
Michigan Primary Care Association is pleased to have received a third year of funding from the DentaQuest Foundation to participate in the Strengthening the Oral Health Safety Net (SOHSN) initiative as a state primary care association partner. The Strengthening the Oral Health Safety Net initiative addresses the challenges that Health Centers, as safety net providers, face in providing comprehensive primary and preventive services to improve the oral health and overall health of people who might otherwise go without the care they need, were it not for their local Health Center. A strong safety net is vital to meet current and future demand for oral health prevention, education, and treatment for underinsured and medically underserved children and adults.
Michigan Health Centers selected to participate in this initiative receive in-depth practice management technical assistance from Safety Net Solutions that is valued at $45,000, which helps them grow and improve their oral health program.
